Job Description

We are seeking an experienced chief accountant to join our team in Egypt. The ideal candidate will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with Egyptian and Saudi tax regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to support business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Recommend and determine accounting software and electronic systems that ensure accuracy and efficiency in performing accounting processes.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial files and records to document transactions, and oversee the preparation of monthly, annual, and final accounts reports.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, manage journal entries, general ledger, trial balance, and accounting adjustments.
  • Participate in preparing budget forecasts and reviewing budgets and payroll statements.
  • Conduct periodic variance analysis of revenues and expenses and provide necessary recommendations.
  • Perform reconciliations for capital assets and trust accounts.
  • Lead and manage the accounting team by assigning tasks, organizing workflow, evaluating performance, and providing guidance and training to achieve set objectives.
  • Coordinate and follow up on annual financial audits with external auditors.
  • Stay updated on legal changes and ensure policies and procedures are updated to comply with local and international accounting regulations.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce Accounting major (Master's degree or professional certifications such as CMA or CPA are preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years
    of practical experience in accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role or as an accounting manager.
  • Proven experience with Egyptian and Saudi tax regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP accounting systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prepare clear reports for senior management.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken), preferably with familiarity with financial and accounting terminology in English.
  • Note: This role may require moving to Saudi Arabia in the future.
