Chemistry Technician II
The Role:
Support raw material and final goods testing using analytical techniques.
Support laboratory chemists as needed with administrative duties.
In this role you will:
This positionis responsible forthe routine testing of finished good products, incoming materials, requestsample, including commercialproductsand new product introduction.
Focus onmaintaininginternal & external instrument calibration system, label,recordand analysis data through LIMS system to ensure valid and consistent results.
The technician is also responsible formaintainingclean working environment to conform EHS/5S policies and supporting Lab shift leader on daily Lab’s activities.
1. Analytical task
Handle all activities related to the testing of finished good products, raw materials, intermediateproducts and requestsamplein accordance withSOP (Standard Operation Procedures) and WI (Work Instructions). Types of testing can include physical property (e.g.pH, viscosity, SG), chemical/particle property (e.g. GC, IC, HPLC, LPC, Particle Size) and metal property (ICPMS) analysis for commercial products, new product introduction, experimental products, and complaint samples.
Ensure quality laboratory practices arefollowed at all times
Ensure allinstrumentscalibration/verification based on established and validated test methods or manufacturing recommendations.
2. QC Management
Run, review and record controlstandardand sample data asindicatedby work instructions.
Analyze data for trends using basic SPC and control charting techniques.
Report out issue results or trouble shooting toappropriate personnel
Work with Chemist and Supervisor to update the documents and executeannualMSA plan.
3. Environment,healthand Safety
Follow all EHS and 5S guidelines and policies whilemaintaininga safe and clean working environment.
Complete all required safety training on time andparticipatein group safety activities.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Hands-on experience with laboratory measurement equipment
Experience with quality system (LIMS), SPC basic statistical methods, statistical software packages a plus (i.e.Quality Analyst, Minitab, JMP).
Basic data entry and spreadsheet development skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Flexible and adaptable to change.
Self-motivated and disciplined and ability to work independently, as well as a contributor in a team environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
Chemistry or Biology Bachelor’s degree isrequired
More than two years related analysis experience with chemistry and analytical laboratory
