The job holder carries out independent chemical analysis for vitamins and mycotoxins, minerals and proximates according to Nestlé-internal and official procedures based on HPLC, microbiological assays, spectroscopic, titrimetric or gravimetric testing. The analyst is responsible for preparation of the sample, analysis, entering results into LIMS and reporting results through the Head of Chemistry within five days according to work planning. He/She maintains the chemicals and laboratory equipment according to strict rules (internal control plan) and tracks the performance of the analytical methods in use through method performance monitoring applications (QSTAT) and regular proficiency testing (P-tests). Method procedures (LIs/SOPs) are verified on a regular basis by the analyst. The analyst is also responsible for sampling raw materials and packaging materials. The analyst must be able to prepare and evaluate sensory analysis on the raw materials and Finished product
Ensures reliable results as per ISO 17025 requirements and within five days turnaround time. Adds value to the analytical results through full understanding of the product in terms of food safety and regulatory compliance and alerts Head of Chemistry of discrepancies/ out of norm situations.
Analysis of samples: perform all routine vitamin and mycotoxin, minerals and proximates analysis as per Laboratory instructions and ensure correct result entry into GLOBE-LIMS with respect to method used. Management of GLP, ICP, SOP: put ICP, SOP in place and update them when necessary. Maintain Good laboratory practices (GLP). Ensure safety is always in place. Use control checks and monitor through QStat analytical method performance to ensure quality of analytical results. Maintenance of resources: keep track of resources (chemicals/gases/glassware/instruments, consumables). Maintain equipment (services) and arrange for defects/faulty equipment to be repaired. Maintain records of repairs/calibrations/analytical method control.
