By joining the DEPS, Inorganic Branch, Metals Section as a Chemist I in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to work in helping DEPS meet programmatic monitoring and regulatory testing needs.
Holders of the Chemist I position will complete tasks such as:

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, or in a natural, physical, forensic science or a related science field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a laboratory setting. Incumbent may be exposed to hazardous materials, substances, or compounds when performing chemical analysis, which may require utilization of safety measures. Field work may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
