Job Description

EHS and 6S & Confidentiality

  • HES and 6S responsibility in lab
  • Strong ownership of EHS and 6S in his working environment
  • Lab equipment daily maintenance
  • Abide by RD confidentiality principles

Formulation and lab process

  • Independence on planning, implementing and updating projects on regular basis
  • Capability of modifying existing products or developing new products to meet customers’ new requirement
  • Communication skill across technical, commercial and production boundaries;
  • Proactiveness on looking for alignment on timeline and milestones with stakeholders
  • Well-organized report as output of every project handled
  • Lab process concept with right understanding of the consequence of upscaling to production

Problem solving and customer support

  • Result driven and customer focus
  • 6 sigma and problem-solving skill, like problem definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control (anything similar is acceptable)
  • Ability to coordinate with global and regional analytical team to identify root cause
  • Customer visit to understand Sherwin William’s products application and line parameters

Production support

  • Able to run PI (production introduce process) to introduce changes (formula change, process change and others) to production to minimize risks
  • Supervise pilot batches
  • Support defective batch solution or raw material shelf life extension
  • Support product transfer as needed at Chemist level

Education Background : Bachelor or above in polymer or macromolecule

Experiences : Coating for packaging, coil coating, General industrial, protective coating, metal adhesive (in sequence of preference)

Technical Skill Requirement :

  • Ability in applying fundamental manufacturing and operational principles and practices;
  • Ability in researching and resolving quality problems;
  • Ability in performing intermediate quality, statistical, and related analytical studies;
  • Experienced in providing technical customer service;
  • Experienced in developing project reports and findings;
  • Hands on experience with analytical instruments: FT-IR, GC, Particle Size analyzer etc.,
  • Experienced in serving as a liaison with management;
  • Good working relationship with internal and external customers;
  • Ability in interpreting and applying department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Good PC skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other applicable applications;
  • Ability in communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
  • Safe chemicals handling, lab operation on solvent borne and water borne products
