As a Chemical Engineer, you’ll have the responsibility of providing technical leadership and engineering support for aerospace chemical processing operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing process performance, and maintaining quality throughout electroplating and chemical treatment processes. The position partners closely with Production, Quality, Laboratory, Process Planning, and Business Development teams to troubleshoot issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support regulatory audits, and enhance operational efficiency.

What you’ll do

  • Assist Process Planning by correcting and revising job routers and travelers.

  • Support Sales and Business Development by providing technical expertise on current process capabilities and potential growth opportunities.

  • Actively participate in NADCAP Chemical Processing audits.

  • Develop internal process flowcharts, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Assist Production, Quality, and Laboratory teams with troubleshooting process tank and customer part issues.

  • Support documentation control to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications.

  • Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and customers during facility visits.

  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing and cost reduction.

  • Monitor process performance through chemical analysis and trend evaluation to improve process stability and quality.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (ITAR, Export Control, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of electroplating, electrochemical processes, and aerospace materials.

  • Proficient in using measurement and analytical equipment, including micrometers, XRF, and AA spectrometers.

  • Experienced with True-Chem or similar chemical management software and chemical process control.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical callouts, and industry specifications (AMS, ASTM, MIL).

  • Skilled in analyzing process data, performing trend analysis, and applying FMEA and RCCA methodologies for continuous improvement.

  • Capable of auditing chemical processing operations and calculating process tank chemical additions and part surface areas.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat for documentation, reporting, and communication.
