Position Details:
Title: Chemical Operator - Pharma
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have prior production and mixing experience.
Schedule: 1st shift, 7:00am - 5:30pm, Monday - Thursday
Location: Gibbstown, NJ (08027)
Salary Range: $18.75 hourly, based on experience and qualifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Read batch cards and record required information in written and electronic systems.
- Fulfill work orders and follow instructions with supervision.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to formulas and specifications.
- Start and operate vessels, blenders, and packaging equipment under supervision.
- Adjust mixing controls and monitor production to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Observe machine operations for quality and product conformity.
- Perform basic calibration checks and record production data.
- Assist with QC checks, batch paperwork, and inventory accuracy.
- Support spill cleanup, waste disposal, and maintain waste logs.
- Clean equipment and maintain housekeeping in production areas.
- Follow GMP, FDA, Environmental, Health & Safety practices.
- Suitable for candidates with 0–6 months of experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal) to understand and follow procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Strong mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide various units of measure.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to lift 40 lb. cartons.
- 0 – 6 months’ experience.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and overtime, as needed.
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands and Environment:
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical Demands: Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend and lift/move up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis. In addition, must be able to maneuver and move 30 to 55-gallon drums or up to 450 pounds utilizing the proper drum material handling equipment provided.
- Work Environment: This position requires one to work both in an office environment and warehouse. There is a moderate level of noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. Employee will be exposed to varying temperatures.
