As a Chemical Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Your attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures will contribute to the production of high-quality chemicals.
Main Responsibilities:
Support and follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements
Housekeeping duties throughout site
Daily, weekly, monthly inspections - forklifts, lab, EHS
Wash, inspect, and label reusable totes for daily and weekly use
Label and prepare all types of one-way packaging
Load bulk trucks with finished product as well as unload trucks of bulk raw material into storage tanks
Blend high quality finished materials:
Read batch recipes and follow instructions so that batches are made to the required quality standard with all the correct materials
Stage and prepare ingredients for blends as needed for production
Deliver chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities using automated systems as well some semi-automated /manual systems
Complete lab testing to ensure products are formulated to meet quality standards
Complete all batch documentation accurately and in a timely manner so as to ensure raw material inventory is properly accounted for
Consult with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Report, help troubleshoot and assist maintenance as required
Handle other duties as assigned.
Core Requirements:
Willingness to work in a team environment
Willingness to support and/or lead change
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with large volumes of chemicals (desired)
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and environments (ISO 9001)
Mechanical skills is an asset
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Computer proficiency
Forklift license as an asset, or willing to be trained on forklift.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Boots, Safety Clothing, Safety Helmet, Safety Goggle/Glasses, Respirator, Gloves)
