TA MISSION
Relevant directement du Directeur technique, vous serez responsable de diriger l'équipe de gréage acrobatique, en supervisant l'ensemble du personnel, de l'équipement, des opérations et de la maintenance de la production. Vous établissez et assurez le fonctionnement sécuritaire et constant de tous les éléments de gréage de la production pour chaque représentation, en coordonnant, planifiant et organisant toutes les activités du département afin de garantir la qualité du spectacle et un environnement de travail sécuritaire.

YOUR MISSION
Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading the Acrobatic Rigging team, overseeing all rigging staff, equipment, operations and maintenance of the production. You establish and maintain the safe and consistent operation of all production rigging elements for every performance, coordinating, scheduling, and planning of all departmental activities to ensure the quality of the show and a safe work environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Manage and supervise all aspects of the rigging department and its team;
Act as the lead rigger during all rehearsals and performances;
Work with the artistic department and stage management to support their needs during rehearsals, training and performances;
Maintain a safe working environment at all times by enforcing and conforming to established safety policies and procedures, including fall-protection protocols, use of personal protective equipment, safe handling of tools, and the promotion of a safety culture;
Ensure all departmental personnel adhere to and enforce company and departmental policies;
Oversee the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and inspections for all acrobatic rigging equipment; ensure all routines and inspections are appropriately documented;
Ensure all departmental designs, equipment, systems, functions, procedures, show tracks, maintenance and inspection logs, and special projects are properly documented using standard tools; document the show evolution as needed;
Manage the administrative aspects of the department by participating in the hiring of new employees, completing staff performance evaluations, coordinating schedules including vacations and timesheets, and ensuring parts and supplies are stocked to meet ongoing show needs;
Always ensure the safety and security of all acrobatic rigging equipment;
Attend all relevant departmental and cross-departmental meetings;
Carry out any other tasks required for the seamless and safe operation of the show.
Project Management
Plan, manage and follow up on assigned projects, ensuring they meet artistic and technical needs as well as established standards, deadlines and budgets;
Seek out, order or purchase new or replacement rigging equipment in accordance with the company’s procurement policies;
Elaborate lists and layout of rigging systems and equipment under your responsibility;
In collaboration with the Technical Director, keep equipment archives, stock lists and technical documentation up to date;
In collaboration with the Technical Director, establish budget estimations, coordinate budget forecasts and manage costs;
Research and propose rigging techniques, equipment, materials or new methods that can optimise the results of projects or resolve problems;
Use the tools and procedures provided to manage inventory and equipment data;
Establish emergency procedures for show systems and situations with technical management, stage management and the rest of the technical team; ensure all artists, technicians and staff are familiar with and trained on all pertinent procedures and equipment;
Collect, draft and distribute final documentation and obtain final approval.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to deal with unexpected situations and work well under pressure;
Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset;
Advanced technical knowledge of acrobatic and theatrical rigging equipment and systems;
Extensive experience working directly with live acrobatic performers in a professional show environment;
Proven experience in personnel management and leadership;
In-depth knowledge of international safety standards (OSHA or equivalent), work-at-heights techniques and fall-protection equipment;
Good communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively across departments;
Great foresight and ability to resolve unexpected technical or safety situations;
General knowledge of automation controls and concepts;
REQUIREMENTS
Professional or technical training in rigging, live entertainment, theatre production or any relevant professional experience;
At least 5 years of experience in the live entertainment industry (circus, theatre, stadium shows or equivalent);
At least 3 years in a management or leadership role (HOD or equivalent);
Advanced knowledge of rigging techniques and rigging and fall-protection equipment (including rescue equipment);
Knowledge and proficiency in managing acrobatic performance equipment;
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and rigging plots;
Ability to work with the Microsoft Office suite;
Fluent in English; Spanish is a valuable asset;
Available to work variable hours at predefined times;
Available to relocate to Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, where the theatre is located.
