About this job:

The Chef Trainer leads comprehensive culinary training programs for district food service staff, overseeing recruitment, logistics, and hands-on instruction to ensure participants can successfully apply new skills on the job. In partnership with the grant manager, the role evaluates training effectiveness, documents outcomes, and contributes to strategic decisions as a member of the grant oversight committee.

What You'll Do:


  • Collaborate with the menu curriculum team to design, refine, and update training curriculum, modules, and lesson plans

  • Recruit and enroll district food service staff into training cohorts and coordinate scheduling with site supervisors

  • Manage all training logistics, including site booking, kitchen setup, equipment needs, ingredient and supply ordering, and safety/regulatory compliance

  • Deliver training by presenting concepts, demonstrating culinary techniques, supervising hands on practice, and coaching participants

  • Monitor participant progress, provide feedback, and follow up with work sites to support successful implementation

  • Conduct pre/post assessments, refresher sessions, surveys, and competency checks; maintain accurate training records and documentation

  • Analyze training outcomes to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and prepare periodic reports for grant oversight and funders

  • Present findings and actively participate in grant oversight, steering committee meetings, budget reviews, and strategic planning discussions

  • Coordinate with department leadership, menu team partners, and area managers to ensure alignment with district food service goals and standards

  • Assist sites in troubleshooting implementation challenges and support compliance with food safety, sanitation, regulatory, and nutrition requirements



What You’ll Need:

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
