Down here on the sun-dappled shoreline, something special is taking root.
Opening in June 2026, Heirloom is a coastal kitchen and dining space nestled within a stunning new retirement living community just south of Sydney. With sweeping waterfront views, a Mediterranean soul, and a deep love for shared stories and slow meals, Heirloom is where old traditions meet new memories—open to the public, but grounded in the lives of our residents, their families, and friends.
We’re looking for CasualChefs (full-time & part-time) to join our founding team—someone who cooks with care, consistency, and creativity, and who thrives on making every dining experience memorable.
Your opportunity

With professionalism, passion, and a love for hospitality, you will:
Prepare and deliver high-quality, seasonal dishes inspired by Mediterranean flavours
Plan menus, manage stock ordering, and oversee kitchen operations
Ensure compliance with HACCP, WHS, food safety, and hygiene regulations
Lead and support kitchen staff, providing training and guidance where needed
Monitor costs, assist with budgets, and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency
Engage warmly with residents, guests, and team members, contributing to a welcoming and vibrant environment
What you’ll bring
Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
Minimum four years’ experience in a chef or cook role, preferably in café or restaurant settings
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
Excellent communication, literacy, and teamwork skills
A collaborative, positive approach to supporting and mentoring others
Creativity and passion for delivering consistent, high-quality food experiences
Desirable but not essential:
Experience in aged care or retirement living environments
Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine or other fresh, seasonal cooking styles
Why join us?
Be part of something from the ground up—shaping the culture and energy of a brand-new venue
Work in a beautiful waterfront setting
Make meaningful connections with a regular, close-knit community
Bring your personality, ideas, and culinary creativity to a team that values care, innovation, and a sense of humour
