About the Role

Huka Lodge is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team and contribute to the outstanding culinary experience that has defined this celebrated lodge for over a century. Nestled on the banks of the Waikato River in Taupō, Huka Lodge is one of New Zealand's most treasured luxury retreats.

In this role, you will work alongside a talented kitchen team to deliver refined, seasonal menus using the finest local and New Zealand produce. You will take ownership of your section, maintaining the exceptional standards of quality and presentation that our guests expect.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking full ownership of your designated section during service
  • Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Contributing to menu development and seasonal produce sourcing
  • Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards across your section
  • Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen team members
  • Collaborating closely with senior chefs to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Assisting with stock management, ordering and waste minimisation

About You

You are a passionate and skilled chef who takes pride in your craft and thrives in a high-quality, team-focused kitchen environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Solid experience as a Chef de Partie, ideally in a luxury lodge, fine dining or premium resort setting
  • Strong knife skills and a sound understanding of classical and contemporary cooking techniques
  • A genuine interest in seasonal, locally sourced ingredients
  • The ability to work efficiently and calmly during service
  • Excellent communication and a collaborative approach to kitchen culture
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Current New Zealand working rights
