Job Description

With balconies full of geraniums and subtropical gardens that border an exclusive Sicilian beach – Villa Sant’Andrea, a Belmond Hotel feels like a private home nestled in Taormina Mare. At the acclaimed restaurant, freshly caught fish and decadent desserts are enhanced by stunning sea views. Guests can relax in the heated infinity pool, wellness centre and stylish beach cabanas.

For the next season, we are looking for a Chef de Partie to join the team.The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and comfortable with challenges.

He/she should have exceptional taste and exemplary customer service skills. The primary objective is to provide a friendly, attentive, and timely service and to create an exceptional experience for all our guests.

He/She reports to Executive Chef.

Main duties:

  • Meal preparation: cooking and preparing food for each service;
  • Maintain safety, health and hygiene standards in all areas of the kitchen;
  • Controls incoming goods and stores them in perfect conditions;
  • Monitors portion and waste control;
  • Performs all duties assigned by the Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef;
  • Coordinate and monitor all Demi and Commis de partie assigned to him/her.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of cooking styles, equipments and raw materials processing techniques;
  • At least 3 years of previous professional experience within the same role in a luxury environment;
  • Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred;
  • Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally.
  • Effective communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability;
  • Collaboration: be able and willing to work as a team player;
  • Drive results: provide genuine and consistent high levels of service by anticipating and exceeding expectations of guests and colleagues;
  • Global perspective: treat each other with respect and inclusiveness regardless of position, level or background;
  • HACCP certification.
