About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Chef De Partie to join our Pastry team in Jumeirah Olhahali Island

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • To ensure that guest expectations are exceeded by providing an efficient, friendly and attentive service.
  • Prepare all mise-en-plus required for all bakery requirements on the island to the highest level.
  • Ensure junior team members are trained in a professional manner to ensure quality and consistency within the bakery department.
  • Monitors and takes responsibility for timely preparation, quality products and end results.
  • Work closely with the Pastry sous chef and Executive Pastry Chef to address any work-related issues or ideas to improve the quality of product/services for our guests or enhance the working environment for our colleagues.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety aspects of the bakery area/kitchen are always maintained.
  • Cater to any reasonable off menu request in a timely manner. If this is not possible suggest alternatives for the guests.
  • To ensure the operations of the kitchen equipment are maintained to a good standard with minimum breakages.
  • Maintains great communication with superiors about all aspects of assigned section, including equipment, working environment, host issues, guests' requests and team relations.
  • Prepare all the required SOPs, recipes and costing for the bakery station to ensure wastage is minimized and we are being cost effective.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years within the same role and position in a luxury resort or high-end restaurant.

  • Hands-on experience in dealing with guest requests and interactions.
  • Hands-on experience in guiding and developing junior colleagues.
  • Ability to resolve guest complaints/issues in a calm and professional manner.
  • Very good command of speaking, reading, and writing English language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
