About the Role

Silky Oaks Lodge is seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team, nestled within the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest. This is a rare opportunity to work in a stunning natural setting where the landscape shapes everything, from the ingredients on the plate to the experience at the table.

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, you will take ownership of your section and contribute to a dining experience that reflects the beauty and produce of tropical Far North Queensland. Accommodation available if required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running your designated section to a consistently high standard during service
  • Preparing and presenting dishes in line with menu specifications and lodge standards
  • Contributing to menu development and seasonal produce sourcing
  • Maintaining food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance across your section
  • Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen staff
  • Assisting with stock management, ordering and minimising wastage
  • Working collaboratively with the broader kitchen team to deliver a seamless dining experience

About You

You are a passionate and skilled chef with a strong foundation in a quality kitchen environment, ready to bring your creativity and work ethic to a truly special setting.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie
  • Experience in a fine dining, lodge, or premium restaurant environment
  • A current Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your craft
  • The ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Current Australian working rights
