Job Description
We are looking for a talented Chassis Technician to join our team specializing in Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics for our Service Operations Department in Kathu, Northern Cape, South Africa
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain chassis systems efficiently, ensuring high-quality workmanship and minimal downtime.
- Accurately follow documented procedures to complete complex repairs, identifying the correct parts and tools to deliver reliable results.
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect chassis components to detect faults early and prevent future failures.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on condition assessments, improving equipment performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to support diagnostics and develop effective chassis repair plans.
- Complete all required administrative documentation accurately and on time, supporting compliance, warranty processes, and operational tracking.
- Continuously build technical capability by completing training aligned with both personal development and business needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while strictly adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, contributing to a culture of safety and accountability.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability, using structured workflows, electronic tools, and system knowledge to accurately identify and resolve faults.
- Proficiency in using electronic service tools and interpreting results to make informed, effective repair decisions.
- Solid understanding of how mechanical and electrical systems interact (e.g., fuel, cooling, driveline, sensors), enabling efficient and accurate repairs.
- Attention to detail in completing high-quality repairs within standard times, while ensuring accurate documentation, proper escalation, and adherence to service processes.
Education/ Experience
- Matric Certificate
- Minimum of N2 diesel mechanic or Millwright
- Qualified trade tested Diesel mechanic or Millwright
- Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years' experience post qualification
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
