This is not your typical restaurant management role.

You’ll be part of a team at one of St. Louis’ most iconic and historic hotels, located in the heart of the Central West End. Our property is known for its character, energy, and variety of dining experiences, giving you exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced environment that keeps things interesting.

As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will partner with leadership to oversee daily restaurant operations and actively support, develop, and motivate the team. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality service, maintaining standards, and ensuring both guest satisfaction and team engagement.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, connecting with guests, and building a strong team culture.

What You’ll Do

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Support the planning and execution of food and beverage service across outlets and events
  • Be present on the floor to ensure smooth operations and step in to resolve guest concerns
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, presentation, and service execution
  • Partner with the Chef to stay informed on menus and guide the team accordingly
  • Monitor guest feedback and take action to continuously improve the experience

Team Leadership

  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities clearly
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
  • Provide real-time coaching and feedback to support team development
  • Help ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees

Planning & Administration

  • Assist in managing all aspects of the F&B operation
  • Support scheduling based on business levels and labor guidelines
  • Participate in inventory management and cost control efforts
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations

Pay Range

What We’re Looking For

  • 1 to 3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-first approach
  • Ability to stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including cost controls
  • Comfort with basic technology and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to motivate a team and maintain a positive culture

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food safety and alcohol service certifications as required
