Chartering Coordinator - White Plains, NY

The Chartering Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and developing ADM’s dry bulk freight activities in the Atlantic basin with focus on LATAM trade. Based in New York, this position acts as a vital link between the commercial, operational, and commodity teams, ensuring smooth execution of fixtures and continuous improvement of freight processes.
As a core member of the Global Ocean Freight team, you will take end‑to‑end responsibility for freight performance across assigned trades, supporting both existing flows and future growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, combining organizational skills with commercial awareness to support ADM’s expanding freight business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the commercial chartering of vessels on both voyage and time charter basis, aligned with the in-house trading strategy and market conditions
  • Analyze freight markets, indices and commodities to assess trends, relative value, and forward risk, translating insight into decisive commercial action
  • Optimize internal cargo flows by securing competitive freight while actively managing market exposure, volatility, and operational risk
  • Partner closely with trading teams to structure freight solutions that protect margins, enhance optionality, and support portfolio performance
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute freight‑driven opportunities, maintaining strong, credible relationships with shipowners, brokers, and cargo owners
  • Ensure rigorous execution discipline, from fixture negotiation through post‑fixture review and performance evaluation
  • Represent ADM professionally at industry meetings, conferences, and market events, reinforcing the company’s commercial reputation and market connectivity
  • Support the transition and standardization of operational processes related to freight management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of fixtures and voyage data in ADM’s systems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient communication and data flow.
  • Monitor freight data and documentation to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide analytical support for freight performance and cost optimization initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chartering, vessel operations, or freight coordination within dry bulk market with focus in the Atlantic trading basin.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of ocean freight markets, chartering practices or operations background, and voyage management systems (Softmar experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data management tools; experience with digital transformation or process improvement is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills are a plus.
  • A proactive, accountable mindset with a continuous improvement approach to both commercial results and professional development

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $131,200.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
