Job Description

First Shift Monday - Friday

Starting Rate $20.48

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Review and assess donor chart information to determine Donor Eligibility based on first and second review criteria. Ensures that the eligibility is compliant with all regulatory and accreditation standards prior to final chart release.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Utilizes the second review criteria to assess the donor chart records and determine the final eligibility of the donor prior to moving the chart to the MD review stage.
  2. Performs or oversees final release of charts to production planning.
  3. Participates in initial process development and identifies and participates in continuous process improvement opportunities.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Chart Review Specialist I

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with FDA and AATB regulations and standards.
  • Intermediate computer literacy.
  • Medical records and/or medical terminology experience.
  • Proficient in critical thinking and decision-making.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.
  • Familiar with Medical terminology.
  • One year experience in tissue banking.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize records and utilize critical thinking skills to perform review and assessment of those records.
  • Proven ability to maintain focus with a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with Medical staff and internal and external customers.
