Under the supervision of the Quality and Compliance Manager, the Chart Audit Nurse is responsible for completing medical record auditing for Rocky Mountain PACE. Working as part of the Quality and Compliance Department, this position ensures adherence to privacy, state, and federal requirements of Rocky Mountain PACE programs. The Chart Audit Nurse is responsible for medical record auditing, identifying and analyzing trends, and supporting projects and other tasks as assigned. This position works collaboratively with all staff to support process improvement activities across the organization. Compensation for this role ranges from $29.00 to $31.90 for LPNs and $38.38 to $42.22 for RNs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conducts thorough and timely medical record audits to ensure compliance with Rocky Mountain PACE policies and applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents trends found during chart audits and presents findings to the Quality and Compliance Manager to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Pulls, analyzes, and presents reports using Microsoft Office and Power BI to support quality improvement processes and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborates with all departments and staff through cross-functional efforts to support process improvement activities and ensure adherence to privacy, state, and federal requirements.
- Brings concerns and process improvement ideas to the attention of the Quality and Compliance Manager; consistently contributes to problem-solving and participates in resolution and implementation.
- Makes effective and persuasive presentations on complex audit findings and compliance topics across all levels of the organization.
- Ensures discretion with all confidential participant and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Current RN or LPN licensure in the state of Colorado; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in medical record auditing, quality assurance, or compliance preferred.
- Must submit to and pass a criminal background check.
- Must hold a current Colorado Driver’s License with a driving record in compliance with Company policy and maintain current automobile insurance.
- Operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local fire, health, safety, sanitation, emergency procedures, and other standards prescribed in law or regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; experience with Power BI preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact clearly and effectively with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, vendors, medical staff, and the public.
- Quality and compliance focused, self-driven, and able to demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
