How will you contribute?
Lead and ensure Health and Safety and Wellbeing are high priority and lead promotion and compliance
Lead and develop a team of Shift Managers to deliver excellence as an everyday achievement through a clear team plan
Creating a positive and productive relationship with the customer who places significant expectations on the achievement of excellent customer service
Develop and embed a culture of excellent customer service ‘right first time’ with the team
Support and develop the people plan for the teams and the site
Adopt a proactive approach to the service demands of the customer ensuring that opportunities are identified and exploited whilst ensuring day to day excellence in the ongoing operations
Implementation and maintenance of best practice processes and procedures throughout the operation, with exceptional focus on health and safety
Monitor and manage the financial costs of all aspects of the operation to maximise the commercial performance for both our Customer and Wincanton
Ensuring that Key Performance Indicators are met and where possible exceeded, whilst supporting, implementing and introducing innovative ideas and solutions
Effective leadership of the warehouse and Stock teams in order to ensure that the service provided meets the high levels of performance required by our client
Ensure sufficient resourcing plans and in place and implemented in order to meet performance expectations
Manage and support agency resourcing and performance
Responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the operation, both warehouse and transport, with exceptional focus on health and safety
Responsible for ensuring that the ongoing operation consistently exceeds the customer’s requirements both in terms of service to customers, KPIs and operational standards
Providing leadership, motivation and career development to the contract team, ensuring that they achieve excellence on a day-to-day basis
Responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement
Ensure an effective relationship with the Transport team, looking for opportunities for continuous improvement
What will you bring?
An experienced Distribution Centre Manager with high quality service focus within a high volume, time critical warehousing and transport environment
Highly energetic, resilient, flexible and enthusiastic in the management of change and innovation and be able to respond in a positive manner to the demands of the client
Excellent leadership skills particularly in the areas of communication and influence in order to maximise the effectiveness of the team and ensuring that they develop excellent relationships with other functions, the client and all individuals
Exceptional customer focus and relationship building skills are required as it is absolutely critical that all informal and formal interaction with the customer is completed with the highest level of professionalism
Must have relevant, well rounded experience in a warehouse environment at a management level and be able to clearly demonstrate previous achievements
Will have excellent team building, leadership and motivational skills
You must have the interpersonal skills to be able to establish effective communication channels with employees ensuring that they are well informed regarding both our customer and Wincanton
Desirable:
Warehouse management experience ideally gained within a fast paced, retail distribution environment, with blue chip customer
