Wismettac is looking for a professional, safety-minded CDL Driver to be the face of our company. You aren’t just moving freight; you’re building relationships and ensuring our high-quality food products reach our customers safely and on time.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Pay: $25.40 - $29.90 per hour based on experience (OT after 40 hours, paid bi-weekly) & Quarterly Driver Incentive

Shift: Full-time Monday-Friday / Tuesday-Saturday

Routes: Mostly Local Routes with 1 Overnight per Week

• Mostly Local: The majority of routes are local, allowing you to spend most nights at home.
• Weekly Overnight: Approximately one overnight hotel stay per week is required.
• Hotel & Per Diem: Wismettac provides the hotel, plus a $50/day per diem for the overnight trip ($100 total for a typical overnight).
• Regional Travel: Occasional interstate and out-of-state deliveries may be required.

The Role

You will operate heavy-duty delivery trucks (average 26,000 lbs.), managing established routes and providing top-tier service to our clients.

• Efficient Delivery: Navigate routes safely in various weather and traffic conditions.
• Customer Connection: Deliver products and maintain positive client relationships.
• Precision & Safety: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain electronic logs (E-logs).
• Hands-on Logistics: Load and unload merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. and assist in warehouse operations when needed.

What You Need

• Valid CDL: Must possess a valid CDL and maintain a safe, acceptable driving record.
• Delivery Experience Required: Previous professional delivery, freight, or commercial driving experience is required. Experience operating delivery trucks is highly preferred.
• Clearinghouse Compliance: Must have no current open Clearinghouse violations or other Clearinghouse status that would prevent you from legally operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Safe Driving Record: Must meet company and DOT driving record requirements.
• Physical Ability: Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pulling, pushing 50+ lbs. and maneuvering in and out of the cab.
• Safety Mindset: Working knowledge of DOT regulations and a strong commitment to safety.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends to meet customer needs.
• Technology: Comfortable using tablets for E-logs and electronic reporting.
