About the Role

Macmahon Underground is growing and expanding its footprint across Australia’s East Coast, creating exciting opportunities for experienced Charge Up Operators to join our team.

We are seeking safety-focused operators who can play an integral role in our underground crews by prioritising safety and demonstrating proven development and production experience, including the operation of Normet charge-up equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Normet explosive charging equipment
• Handle, transport, store, charge, and fire explosives and blasting agents in accordance with site procedures and legislative requirements
• Carry out development face and production stope charging activities while maintaining compliance with site blasting, evacuation, and safety standards
• Install and remove mine services and ventilation as required
• Complete pre-start inspections, identify and report hazards or equipment defects, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately
• Follow mine plans, supervisor instructions, and traffic management procedures to support safe and productive operations
• Contribute to Macmahon's people-first culture by living our Winning Values, supporting teammates, sharing knowledge, and fostering a strong crew environment

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 12 months experience as a Charge Up operator
• Demonstrated experience in development and production charging
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up
• A team mindset and reliable work ethic
• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture
• Valid manual (C class) Australian drivers licence (essential)
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate (essential)
• Hold the following state relevant qualifications (essential):
  • WA Shotfirers Licence, Dangerous Goods Security Card (WA)
  • QLD Shotfirers Licence, Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QLD)
  • Blasting Explosives User Licence, Dangerous Goods Drivers Licence (NSW)
  • NT Shotfirers Licence, Dangerous Goods Drivers Licence (NT)
