About the Role:

We seek a passionate Charge Nurse to bolster our team's clinical leadership and operational management. Reporting to the Nurse Regional Lead and working alongside Practice Manager, the Charge Nurse will oversee patient care within our healthcare facility, requiring exceptional clinical acumen, leadership prowess, and a steadfast dedication to upholding organisational standards and protocols.

Working Hours: 32 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: cultivate a collaborative team environment, fostering professional growth and best practices. Participate in staff recruitment, rostering, performance assessments, and nursing development. Lead in triage, treatment initiation, and patient education, adhering to organisational protocols.
  • Patient Triage: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Urgent Care: Perform procedures like wound care, plastering, suturing, asthma treatment etc.
  • General Practice Care: Manage long-term health conditions, mental health, and regular screenings
  • Collaboration: coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance care quality and facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Patient Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Carry out quality assurance and support leadership team with Cornerstone Audits
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures.

About your profile:

  • Holds a current NZNC APC.
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience.
  • Preferably possesses experience in urgent care and general practice.
  • Previous leadership experience in nursing preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Authorised Vaccinator preferred.
  • Cervical Smear Taker.
  • Confident with working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Long Term Condition management.
  • Able to work under Standing Orders.
  • Familiarity with ACC and PHC funding models.
  • Strong organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with MedTech Evolution desirable.
  • Demonstrates commitment to health equity and cultural competency, with an understanding of Tikanga Māori, Kawa Māori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
