Description

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in
beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence,
preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse.
This position will serve in the role of Charge Nurse and supervise professional and ancillary employees in the
administration of efficient nursing care.

Must have an active, unrestricted/probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.

  • Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.

This position, in Hopkins County has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR
2:034 Section 9(1).

This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary:
  • Second & Third shift: 15%
  • Weekend: 25%
  • Holidays: 25%

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):

Working Conditions

Incumbents work with patients, clients, or employees who may have been exposed to infectious diseases which may require the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
