The Charge Analyst serves as liaison among clinical operations and revenue cycle by ensuring appropriate workflows and controls are established to drive accurate and timely charge capture in compliance with OhioHealth policies.
In this role, the Charge Analyst works to identify areas of opportunity for over/under charging and root cause correction by leveraging knowledge of clinical operations, documentation, coding, and charge capture.
This role will support our hospital care sites as part of the Hospital Revenue Integrity Team.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Serve as primary care site specific resource to clinical and operational teams on daily revenue cycle functions including charge posting, charge reconciliation, charge lag and charge capture opportunities, as identified.
Actively engage with clinical and operational leaders to identify and bridge gaps in clinical and system workflows; ensure appropriate controls are established to drive accurate and timely charge capture.
Assist clinical departments to effectively document services and understand the relationship of supporting clinical documentation, medical necessity, coding, and charge capture for services and procedures provided.
Perform daily account reviews identified with potential missing charges utilizing system checks, regulatory and/or billing software applications, and billing data in accordance with OhioHealth policy. Disseminate findings to appropriate clinical, operational, finance and internal audit and compliance teams.
Develop education material and facilitate training sessions related to clinical documentation, coding, and charge capture processes in accordance with OhioHealth policies and procedures.
Contribute to refining and building a comprehensive Revenue Integrity Program by maintaining current regulatory standards reflective of industry best practice.

Additional Job Description:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge of hospital or professional practice operations and Revenue Cycle functions and interdependencies from the point of scheduling to collection of the final bill.
Working knowledge of reimbursement methodologies in an integrated, progressive healthcare delivery system.
Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
Strong audit experience.
