Job Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated analytical scientist to lead and advance polymer separation and characterization capabilities within our Analytical Science organization. In this role, you will leverage expertise in advanced characterization techniques, including GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography), GPC-IR, GPC-3D, TREF (Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation), and SGIC (Solvent Gradient Interaction Chromatography), to solve complex technical challenges, support product innovation, enhance manufacturing performance, and enable business growth.

The successful candidate will collaborate across product development, manufacturing, commercial and research organizations to generate insights into polymer structure-property-performance relationships and translate analytical findings into impactful business solutions

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in polymer separation and characterization technologies.
  • Develop, optimize, validate, and implement analytical methods to support product development, manufacturing, customer support, and market growth.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for GPC and polymer fractionation techniques, including method stewardship, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Apply advanced analytical tools to investigate polymer microstructure and establish structure-property-performance relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, support customer needs, and identify opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Advance analytical capabilities through the evaluation and implementation of emerging characterization technologies and methodologies.
  • Provide technical insights and market feedback to support future product and technology development strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive technologies to guide capability development and innovation.
  • Communicate technical findings effectively to scientific, manufacturing, commercial, and customer audiences.
  • Contribute to intellectual property, technical publications, and conference presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in polymer separation and characterization techniques, including GPC/SEC, GPC-IR, GPC with multi-detector systems, GPC-3D, TREF, and SGIC.
  • Experience in analytical method development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, polymer physics, and structure-property relationships.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, data interpretation, and scientific problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese.
  • Experience with advanced polymer characterization techniques and multidimensional separation methods.
  • Familiarity with complementary analytical tools such as rheology, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, chromatography, and microscopy.
  • Experience supporting product development, manufacturing, customer technical service, or market-facing initiatives.
  • Knowledge of polymer synthesis, plastics processing, and application development.
  • Demonstrated record of patents, publications, and conference presentations.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
