Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Chapman Court Events and Communications Office Assistant supports the planning and execution of events while helping promote Chapman Court initiatives through social media and digital signage content. This role collaborates with a small team of 3 to 6 staff members to enhance community engagement, provide event support, and assist with office operations as needed. Flexible office shifts are available based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

The following tasks are expected of Office Assistants:

  • Support and assist with events hosted by Chapman Court.
  • Create digital signage, social media content, and community flyers to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to students, guests, and community members.
  • Provide support for departmental operations and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintain compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and protect confidential information.
  • Report to scheduled shifts on time and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Utilize desktop computers, telecommunications software, and other office technology to perform assigned duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Little to minimal prior experience required.
  • Ability to learn departmental support processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in event planning, program coordination, or community engagement.
  • Experience creating content for social media, digital signage, or marketing campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
