ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chaplaincy Trainer is responsible for delivering high‑quality chaplaincy training and assessment that meets identified learner needs and current industry requirements. This role supports vocational learners to build practical chaplaincy skills, successfully achieve their learning goals, and grow in confidence and capability.

The role is permanent part time (minimum 15.2 hours) based in either Sydney or Melbourne

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Delivery and Assessment deliver high quality chaplaincy training programs on campus, online or in the workplace in accordance with RTO procedure.
  • Learner Management source and contextualise training materials, mark submitted assessments within the required timeframe and provide meaningful feedback to the learners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify priorities and deliver integrated training solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement contribute to the evaluation program of RTO activities including compilation of reports with key learnings and recommendations to be incorporated back into strategic plans and future planning.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in supporting diverse cohorts of learners on campus and online. To be successful in this role you will require;

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Diploma of Chaplaincy.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chaplain.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
