PRIMARY FUNCTION
ChristianaCare is hiring a Chaplain III to provide pastoral care to patients/families and staff of Christiana Care.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide for the spiritual/religious needs of patients/families, staff, students, and volunteers.
Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care appropriate to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population. This requires the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify age-specific patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Provide supervisory leadership and/or support for spiritual services activities in assigned clinical areas and in other areas when needed.
Perform designated administrative responsibilities for department, i.e. projects and programs.
Assist and participate in department education activities, (e.g. VCOP, CPE, etc.), or in conjunction with other departments.
Network with community clergy.
Comply with Performance Improvement and Productivity programs for the department and CCHS.
Perform additional tasks and functions as needed and directed to accomplish the purpose of the department, such as but not limited to day on-call, overnight on-call, and weekend day shifts.
Demonstrates compliance with CCHS and departmental policies and procedures and mandatory education requirements including but not limited to safety, infection control, attendance, and dress code.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS degree or equivalent
M.Div. or equivalent
1 - 3 years as hospital chaplain
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ordination Ability to be ordained/equivalent within first two years of employment
As established by faith group
Maintenance of good standing
Endorsement Faith group formal recognition as chaplain
Maintain endorsement
Certification Board Certified Chaplain (or ability to be board certified within a year of hire)
Maintain above certifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (see Physical Demands Checklist attached)
Varying degrees of physical effort requiring standing, walking, and sitting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Limited exposure to patient body fluids/contamination, even when complying with hospital designated precautions.
Psychological stress related to emotional and physical suffering of others.
Annual Compensation Range $56,804.80 - $85,196.80This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
