Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Awareness and compliance with all EHS systems & follows all GMP rules.
  2. Works in a manner which promotes safety and environmental compliance.
  3. Meets and/or exceeds changeover team expectations.
  4. Focus on production customer satisfaction
  5. Utilizes OPEX processes & tools to problem solve issues.
  6. Responsible for quality focus in all areas; follows requirements of FSSC and Quest team.
  7. Understands all quality standards and how to measure work products.
  8. Follows all changeover documentation and audit requirements to ensure job handoff is properly completed
  9. Removes, transport, and re-installs mold and liner equipment according to changeover standards, such as:
    1. Uses correct process and chemicals to stone and clean platens
    2. Airtests mold before handing off to production via the checklist
    3. Follows procedures during purge & de-hosing process
    4. Understands hosing and water flow on all molds
    5. Proper conveyor set ups according to engineering standards.
    6. Prepares mold and platens according to checklist prior to start up procedures
    7. Set ejector stops, stripper cylinder gaps
    8. Square & level mold
    9. Use correct clamps and hoses for the specific mold
    10. Install correct conveyance system according to Quest team standards
    11. Transports mold properly to avoid damage moving mold to Tool Room for repair
  10. Ensures smooth handoffs between production, changeover team members, and tool rooms.
  11. Performs all work according to crane, forklift, or scissor lift certifications
  12. Pull runners and perform minor mechanical tasks
  13. Understand and can input data into Shop Floor.
  14. Utilizes 5S process to organize mold parts and tools
  15. Uses only approved tools, lube, and solvents when working inside the mold.
  16. Has a thorough understanding of “Mold Safe” protection and how it is set.
  17. Understands the different working aspects of each mold (i.e. collapsible core, rack, strip, etc.)
  18. Clean up oil, grease or repair water leaks during mold re-installation.
  19. Audits before handoff & follows handoff procedures/check sheets when handing off mold to production & tool room
  20. Completes corresponding paperwork and tracking mechanisms when changing out molds/liners
  21. Reports any conditions which could compromise food safety.
  22. Use only approved chemicals on the floor.
  23. Do not put any item involved in product realization on the floor.
  24. Manage Critical control Points where applicable.
  25. Report upset conditions to your Lead or Supervisor.
  26. Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
  27. Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None; this positions reports to the Changeover Team Lead and receives direction also from the Changeover Team Coordinator.

Educational and Other Skill Requirements

Educational and Other Skill Requirements:

  • This position requires reading and writing skills normally acquired through a high school education, or its equivalent in experience.
  • Understands the principle of customer satisfaction and has the capability of meeting those needs.
  • Ability to solve problems, creativity, & attention to detail are critical factors in successful performance of this job.
  • Above average mechanical abilities.
  • Changeover Tech Training is required including mold basics in the Tool Room and all associated safety training.
  • This position requires the certification to operate mobile equipment, cranes, scissor lifts, etc. The certification process requires passing a physical & drug screen.
  • The position requires the employee to be trained in the use of walk behind type lifts. The employee must pass both a written and driving test.
  • LTTV training and certification is required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • This position requires the employee to pass a CORE physical due to the physical nature of the work requirements.
