BE THE DIFFERENCE

At AIA we don’t simply believe in being ‘the best’. We believe in better – because there’s no limit to how far ‘better’ can take us. Everything we do is driven by our purpose to make a difference by helping people embrace Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. And every one of our people has an important role to play. If you want to make a difference by helping shape a healthier, better-protected Australia, read on.

The Opportunity:

The Change Manager opportunity at AIA involves leading the change management response across a range of initiatives, including small to medium projects, agile teams, customer journeys, or defined streams within large and complex programs, either independently or by guiding a small team of change professionals. The role is responsible for creating and managing the change schedule and delivering thorough change analysis, planning, and implementation to ensure people are ready for change and that initiative outcomes and benefits are successfully achieved. It requires strong application of change management expertise and AIA’s change framework to identify and manage stakeholders and positively influence change outcomes. In addition, the role plays a key leadership part within the broader change community by coaching and mentoring others, building change capability across AIA, and providing support to the Head of Change.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Provide strong change thought leadership by shaping and influencing strategic outcomes, using insights to engage stakeholders and build commitment to the change.
  • Clearly define the change by leading the development of the change goal, vision and design approach, articulating why the change is needed and what will be different for the business.
  • Plan the change journey by designing how the business will be involved, sequencing activities effectively, and guiding people through the transition with minimal disruption.
  • Implement and embed the change by working through business leaders to drive adoption, realise benefits, uplift capabilities, and ensure the future state is embedded across multiple releases.
  • Reinforce and sustain the change by co-designing measurement systems, using data and insights to track success, manage capacity and risk, and support long-term behavioural change.
  • Leverage complementary skill sets including human-centred design, agile ways of working, psychology of change, operating model design, digital enablement and data-driven decision making to improve change outcomes and build change capability across AIA.

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including a business or related degree, supported by formal change management or related postgraduate qualifications.
  • Extensive experience designing and delivering change management for large, complex programs or portfolios, typically supported by 5 to 10 or more years in change roles.
  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively with senior leaders and C‑suite stakeholders, supported by strong change sense‑making across culture, mindset and environmental factors.
  • Demonstrated success leading long‑term remediation or transformation programs, with experience across a broad range of change types including behavioural, technology, process, regulatory, organisational design and BAU change.
  • A strong track record and passion for building enterprise‑wide change capability, drawing on experience across industries and delivery models including waterfall, agile and start‑up environments.
