Change Management Specialist

Pay Rate Min to Mid Range

$62,892.00 - $75,468.00

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies a structured change management approach, using proven and effective communication strategies

  • Works with BCSO leadership to develop a change management strategy based on a situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change

  • Works with BCSO leadership to identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific communications strategies and tactics to mitigate or address the concerns

  • Helps BCSO employees understand all the issues surrounding change activities

  • Develops actionable and targeted plans, and when appropriate, includes sponsor roadmaps, coaching plans, training plans and resistance management plans

  • Supports the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders by providing key messages and talking points

  • Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of individual changes

  • Works with BCSO Leadership to identify resistance and performance gaps, and works to develop and implements corrective communications

  • Creates and enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Human Resources, or Business Administration with five (5) years of progressive professional experience with business, media relations, or human resources, plus three (3) years relevant experience in Change Management; or a combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of how people move through change and the change process; knowledge of media relations and marketing communications

  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal; excellent active listening skills; good problem solving and root cause identification skills; and skill in creating and presenting presentations and communications sensitive to a diverse audience’s needs

  • Ability to develop change management tactics to help shift mindset, behaviors, and achieve results through program activities, communication and leadership messages; ability to influence others and move toward a common vision and goal; ability to be a team player and be able to work with and through others; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, and Department/Division Heads

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance

  • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
