Job Description

Spire Healthcare | Change & Implementation Manager | 8 month Fixed Term Contract, 37.5 Hours per Week | Salary £50-58k depending on experience

The Change & Implementation Manager at Spire Healthcare plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful design, delivery, and embedding of organisational, clinical, digital, and operational change initiatives across the organisation. Acting as a bridge between the Strategic Management Office (SMO), clinical and operational teams, and transformation delivery functions, the role ensures that change is planned, governed, executed, and adopted effectively.

This role supports the development and execution of structured change and implementation plans, ensuring initiatives deliver agreed‑upon benefits within defined time, resource, and quality parameters. Working alongside Portfolio Leads, Project Managers, and wider project teams, you will contribute to and support the successful achievement of the goals of your portfolio.

The role is strongly outcomes‑focused and requires the ability to influence people, navigate complex healthcare environments, and drive adoption of new ways of working. A strong emphasis is placed on structured change control, resistance management, clear communication, proactive risk management, and ensuring change is delivered safely and compliantly.

This position demands expertise in change management and healthcare operations, with the ability to apply both traditional and agile delivery approaches to ensure change aligns with Spire Healthcare’s strategic priorities and delivers meaningful, measurable value.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Change Management, Implementation & Adoption
  • Select and apply appropriate change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci, Lean Healthcare) to support the planning, execution, and adoption of transformational, clinical, digital, or operational change.
  • Develop and maintain change and implementation plans, ensuring alignment to initiative scope, operational readiness, and clinical safety requirements.
  • Lead change impact assessments, benefits mapping, and readiness activities to ensure successful deployment and sustainability of change.
  • Work closely with operational, clinical, and central functions to ensure new processes, systems, or pathways are safely embedded.
  • Time, Cost & Quality Management
  • Support refinement of initiative scope, change requirements, resourcing, and operational impacts.
  • Partner with Project Managers to align implementation timelines with project schedules, clinical constraints, and operational capacity.
  • Planning, Engagement & Collaboration
  • Actively support the planning and facilitation of key transformation and change meetings, workshops, and engagement events (e.g., service design workshops, readiness assessments, clinical engagement forums).
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (clinical, operational, digital, and corporate) to ensure changes are integrated and delivered smoothly.
  • Ensure changes are co designed and implemented with hospital teams and business owners.
  • Risk, Dependency & Compliance Management
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage change related risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Maintain high quality documentation to support auditability and compliance.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a key point of contact for communicating change activities across all levels of the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver clear communications, engagement materials, and stakeholder updates tailored to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
  • Facilitate change discussions, decision making sessions, and feedback loops.
  • Vendor & Partner Engagement
  • Support management of external partners involved in change implementation (e.g., system vendors, training providers).
  • Ensure external deliverables support organisational readiness, adoption, and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen the change framework and implementation methodologies.
  • Support quality assurance processes to ensure changes are delivered safely, sustainably, and effectively.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Support creation of a culture of collaboration, learning, and high performance across change and transformation teams.
