Our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive. We're all about providing the best experience and delivering the best tech on the best network.

This includes making Telstra the place you want to work.

What is the focus of the role?

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Change Coordinator to join our Network Operations (NetOps) team. This role is responsible for coordinating, governing, and driving the successful execution of network-related changes across complex customer environments. The Change Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring changes are submitted accurately, meet compliance requirements, progress efficiently through approval processes, and are implemented with minimal risk to customer services. Working closely with engineers, architects, service delivery managers, project teams, and operational stakeholders, you will help improve change quality, reduce change denials, and strengthen operational governance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of network changes from initiation through to closure.
  • Review and validate Requests for Change (RFCs) to ensure completeness, quality, and compliance with change management standards.
  • Support technical teams in preparing high-quality change records, implementation plans, risk assessments, and rollback procedures.
  • Manage change schedules and approval milestones, ensuring adherence to lead times and governance requirements.
  • Facilitate engagement between engineering, operations, architecture, service delivery, customer teams, and change authorities.
  • Monitor change progress and proactively address risks, delays, or approval issues.
  • Drive completion of post-deployment activities, CMDB updates, implementation reviews, and change closure tasks.
  • Analyse change performance data and identify opportunities to reduce change denials and improve process compliance.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives relating to change management, automation, governance, and operational excellence.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • NV1 Security Clearance
  • Experience working within a network operations, IT operations, service management, or technical delivery environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Change Management processes.
  • Experience coordinating technical changes within complex enterprise environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience using service management platforms such as ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into business-friendly outcomes.

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting Defence, Federal Government, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Understanding of network technologies including routing, switching, security, and infrastructure services.
  • Knowledge of CMDB, configuration management, and service governance frameworks.

Success Measures

The successful candidate will:

  • Reduce avoidable change denials and rework.
  • Improve change submission quality and compliance.
  • Ensure timely completion of post-implementation and governance activities.
  • Increase efficiency by enabling technical teams to focus on engineering and operational support.
  • Provide clear visibility of change risks, trends, and performance through effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.

If you are dedicated to developing yourself, have a desire to always achieve more then we want to hear from you! Above all, you will bring enthusiasm and dedication to your job, are not afraid of hard work, and thrive off the satisfaction gained from achieving success in addressing and successfully overcoming challenges.
