The Chair of Management is a senior academic leadership role appointed at Professorial level, responsible for providing strategic, academic and scholarly leadership for the Management discipline at ACAP University College.

The role is central to positioning ACAP’s Management discipline as a distinctive, industry-engaged, and student-centred offering. The Chair will lead the development and delivery of high-quality, future-focused programs that enhance student success, graduate employability, and the College’s reputation.

The Chair is accountable for ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all Management courses, while fostering a strong culture of scholarship, innovation, and collegiality. The role will promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing academic culture and provide strategic advice to the Dean and Executive on discipline growth, sustainability, and market relevance.

Externally, the Chair represents ACAP in academic, professional, and industry contexts, building partnerships that strengthen curriculum relevance, scholarship, and employability pathways.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in academic program leadership and demonstrated ability to use evidence to inform strategic direction and manage change.
  • Expertise and experience in curriculum design, innovation and uplift to enhance academic standards, quality assurance and regulatory compliance aligned to AQF and TEQSA requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-quality, inclusive teaching and use student data to improve progression, retention, satisfaction and achievement.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop academic teams, manage performance, plan workforce needs and build a positive academic culture.
  • Established scholarly profile, strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with industry, professional bodies and institutional stakeholders.

  • Experience in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) design and implementation
