Job Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a CGD Engineer will support the development and execution of commercial grade dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items procured in support of constructing the Chrysalis, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility located in Janesville, WI. This is an on-site individual contributor position effective through the operational phase of the Chrysalis.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $145,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities of the CGD (Commercial Grade Dedication) Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans to qualify commercial items for QL-1 applications.
  • Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering the electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
  • Interface with Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use case of items.
  • Interface with Project Management and Construction organizations to understand how procurement engineering tasks affect installation dates.
  • Support development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Complete commercial grade surveys of vendors, as required.
  • Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
  • Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or other technical field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Experience in commercial grade dedication (EPRI NP5652).
  • Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
  • Experience in equipment qualification.
  • Experience in seismic qualification testing preferred.
  • Instrumentation & control and electrical systems preferred.
  • Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
  • Ability to develop strong vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
