Job Description

OUR STORY

For more than 35 years, Bardel Entertainment has been growing and evolving, yet at our core, we remain grounded in the creative roots of the craft of animation. Our pursuit of fresh ideas, techniques, and technologies is driven by the belief that together, through creativity and collaboration, we can accomplish anything! If you want to be part of an environment that empowers you to experiment, learn, and contribute to exciting projects, come and join us.

As a CG Supervisor at Bardel, you are accountable for the creative and technical execution of CG animation production. You will partner closely with Directors, Production, and Department Supervisors and Leads to ensure consistency in style, quality, and delivery.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can both guide teams and directly engage with tools, workflows, and technical challenges to drive solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Creative & Technical Direction

  • Ensure the visual quality and consistency of CG animation across all shots and sequences
  • Collaborate with Directors, Supervisors and Leads to translate creative vision into executable workflows
  • Oversee the integration of assets and shots across departments to maintain continuity and quality

Pipeline & Workflow Ownership

  • Own and evolve CG workflows, identifying efficiencies without compromising quality
  • Proactively identify pipeline, tooling, and technology risks, and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with Leads and Supervisors to keep pipeline workflows consistent, robust, and scalable as production ramps
  • Analyze production outcomes to improve workflows and future project execution

Hands-On Problem Solving

  • Work “on the box” to prototype, test, and validate solutions within production timelines
  • Support teams directly in resolving complex production challenges—not just directing others

Production Collaboration

  • Partner with Production to manage schedules, track progress, and meet delivery milestones
  • Identify risks early and provide actionable recommendations to keep production on track

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support CG artists, Supervisors and Leads
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support individual and team growth

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Domain Expertise

  • Proven experience as a CG Supervisor in high-quality animated television production
  • Strong background in animation pipelines
  • Deep understanding of CG production workflows, tools, and pipeline architecture

Technical Proficiency

  • Strong working knowledge of one or more industry-standard DCCs (e.g. Maya, Houdini, Blender)
  • Experience in one or more key CG domains such as assets, simulation, LRC; depth in one area plus strong cross-department understanding
  • Familiarity with adjacent workflows such as compositing (e.g., Nuke) and/or Surfacing (e.g., Mari)

Hands-On Capability

  • Demonstrated ability to work directly in DCCs to troubleshoot, prototype, and solve problems
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and become functional in new tools as required
  • Expectation to independently upskill (e.g., through tutorials, testing, and experimentation) to support production needs

Communication & Leadership

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven ability to lead teams, align cross-functional groups, and drive clarity in production environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Teams are unblocked quickly because you can both guide and directly solve problems
  • Pipelines run efficiently and evolve throughout production
  • Communication is clear, proactive, and aligns all stakeholders
  • Artists feel supported, challenged, and able to grow under your leadership
