Job Description

A large industrial gas enterprise in Kazakhstan is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial and accounting functions.

The company operates across gas production, transportation, and processing, and is entering an active phase of modernization and efficiency improvement.

The CFO will play a key role in ensuring financial discipline, cost control, and strategic stability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial, accounting, and reporting activities.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and cash flow across all operations.
• Prepare and maintain management and statutory reports under Kazakh standards and IFRS.
• Supervise CAPEX planning and execution for plant modernization and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee audit, treasury, and compliance processes.
• Maintain effective communication with banks, auditors, and regulators.
• Develop and lead the finance and accounting team, ensuring accuracy and process integrity.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational decisions.

Profile Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management.
• 8-10+ years of financial leadership experience in gas or oil & gas sector.
• Solid understanding of gas production and processing economics.
• Strong skills in budgeting, reporting, and financial control.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Fluent Russian and English.
• Based in Astana, with readiness for travel to production sites.
