Project Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the head of the Programme Support Unit, under the direct supervision of the Media and Communication Officer and in close coordination with the Communications Unit in Haiti and the Media and Communications Divisions (MCD) at the Regional Office in Panama and HQ, the consultant will assist with the development of content for the new IOM Haiti website and coordinate the migration to the new platform in coordination with the Online Communication Unit (OCU) team in Manila.

• In line with IOM Haiti's country strategy, support the process of updating the IOM Haiti website, including completing the required documents and steps requested by the OCU team and ensuring compliance with their requirements.

• Develop the structure and content map of the new IOM Haiti website, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and priorities.

• Draft and edit website content in close coordination with technical teams and relevant units across the mission.

• Track, compile, and organize documentation requested by the OCU team to ensure the correct development and migration of content to the new platform.

• Select photos and videos for the website in coordination with the Media and Communication Officer.

• In coordination with the graphic designer, develop banners and other visual elements required for the website.

• Support and follow up on validation processes with local, regional, and global teams, in coordination with the Media and Communication Officer.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Master’s degree in digital communications, public information, journalism, branding or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or

• University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience

Experience

• Experience developing content for digital channels.

• Excellent skills in drafting and editing multimedia content.

• Online communication and social media skills.

• Proven experience working in highly demanding environments and managing multiple competing priorities.

• High level of professionalism and ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines in a complex and fast-changing environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

• Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity.

• Knowledge of international agencies like the UN is an advantage.

Languages

Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required and working knowledge of French is desirable.

Notes

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
