Purpose
The purpose of this position is to support the daily operations, growth, and goals of the College of Engineering & Technology.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions
- Support the successful day-to-day operation of the office through assigned clerical and administrative duties. Responsibilities may include:
- Managing department email inboxes
- Answering office phone lines and responding to inquiries professionally
- Greeting and assisting office visitors
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and events
- Filing, organizing, and maintaining department records
- Entering and updating data in university systems with a high degree of accuracy
- Tracking completed work and projects using platforms such as Outlook, Teams, Trello, or OneNote
- Assist with office events, workshops, meetings, and department activities by:
- Helping with event setup, operation, and teardown
- Tracking attendance and participation
- Assisting with promotional materials and student outreach efforts
- Supporting communication efforts to increase awareness of department resources and opportunities
- Provide basic technical support and assistance, including:
- Assisting staff with troubleshooting common technology issues
- Supporting the setup and maintenance of office equipment, computers, printers, and presentation technology
- Helping maintain digital files, shared drives, and online systems
- Assisting with website, database, or software updates as needed
- Learning and utilizing department software systems and technology tools effectively
- Collaborate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and external contacts to support departmental initiatives and daily operations.
- Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Microsoft Office Suite and department software systems
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic troubleshooting or technical support experience preferred but not required.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
