Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Standard Work Schedule: Shift: Other Shift

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: May work evenings and weekends

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The program assistant works with the Cooperative Extension Agent to deliver programming and services to 4-H youth and other constituents, in alignment with the Guadalupe County Extension Service’s current plan of work and based on constituent requests for assistance. The position is particularly dedicated to assisting with 4-H youth development programs in preparation for 4-H project completion and for exhibition at the County, State, and regional Fairs.

  • Assists with planning and delivery of project workshops, 4-H Club meetings and activities, 4-H constituent correspondence and program promotion, especially through social media. - Works with Extension team to ensure that appropriate systems and applications are established and utilized efficiently and effectively.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

High School diploma or higher degree.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office programs and applications, social media applications, and electronic communications applications (including email and text messaging)

Special Certification/Licensure:

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
