
Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) role in Clackamas,OR. Key Responsibilities:
· Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded assemblies, fabricated components, and finished products.
· Verify compliance with welding procedures, engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
· Conduct weld inspections in accordance with AWS, ASME, and customer quality requirements.
· Review and maintain welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualification records (WQTR).
· Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records and reports.
· Identify non-conforming materials and products and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
· Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve welding and fabrication issues.
· Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
· Monitor welder performance and verify compliance with qualification requirements.
· Ensure inspection equipment and measuring devices are properly calibrated and maintained.
· Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
· Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
· Minimum of 3 years of welding inspection experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, aerospace, or industrial environment.
· Strong understanding of welding processes including TIG, MIG, Flux-Core, and GTAW.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and specifications.
· Knowledge of AWS, ASME, and other applicable welding codes and standards.
· Experience with non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
· Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in aerospace, pressure vessel, structural steel, or precision manufacturing environments.
· Additional certifications such as ASNT, NDT Level II, or quality certifications.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and audit processes.
· Supervisory or leadership experience within a quality or inspection department.
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Welding Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
