Job Description

PPS is seeking a licensed Certified Welding Inspector for our pipe fabrication facility in Phoenix. This is a full-time, direct hire, permanent opportunity with benefits, huge OT opportunities, and room for growth!

The main responsibility of the role will be to evaluate welds and welding processes to confirm they meet specific codes, standards, and specifications

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and assess both quality and strength of welds
• Check weld specification and ensure the use of proper equipment
• Review and verify welder qualifications
• Perform audit and inspections
• Verify all equipment, preparation, geometry and procedures to ensure code and standards
• Complete visual examinations, non-destructive examinations and destructive examinations
• Prepare and track all audit reports Review, organize and track all certification and procedural documentation
• Design and implement weld inspection quality assurance plans
• Prepare material control requirements
• Adhere to all safety requirement and protocols
• Implement continuous improvement plans
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules of tools and machinery

Qualifications:

• Active CWI certificate is required
• 3 + years experience as a CWI
• Extensive knowledge of relevant welding inspection codes and standards
• Expert with welding symbols and drawings
• Working knowledge of wire and filler materials application for various steel alloys
• Computer literacy
