We’re looking for a Certified Welderto join our EcoLogo-certified facility located in Armstrong, British Columbia Our Armstrong Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces 234 million board feet every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Welder with a Red Seal Certification is required
  • Certified Pressure welder experience would be considered an asset.
  • Commitment to working safely
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems( CMMS) -preferably JD Edwards.
  • Fabricator endorsement, millwright experience and previous experiencein a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Commitment to working safelycoupled with strong communication& interpersonal skills.
  • Apply your knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues
  • Complete the lay-out, fitting and fabrication of metal componentsto assemble structural formssuch as machinery frames, platforms, handrails, machine guarding and piping.
  • Repair metal components and infrastructure using gas, arc-air, MIG, TIG and electrodeas required.
  • Read blueprintsand interpret OEM maintenance informationto complete work to mill standards.
