JOB TITLE:

CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform work on an Equipment Support Services (ESS) Contract that includes an Equipment Maintenance, Repair with Corrosion Prevention and Control (abatement and repair) program. Some of the services include operational repairs, maintenance (preventative and corrective) services, corrective repairs, washing, spot painting, corrosion prevention and repair for all Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE), Civil Engineer End Items (CEEI), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), support vehicles, and Containerized Base Camp Facility items located at Naval Base Guam, Guam (NBG), or various locations off NBG, but still on the island of Guam. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technicians must have a certification as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic from a nationally recognized professional organization or accredited academic institution, and a minimum of four consecutive years of work experience as a journeyman-level or certified diesel mechanic.
  • Heavy equipment mechanic, or have a minimum of seven consecutive years of work experience as a journeyman-level or certified diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • The Journeyman or Technician must be qualified with a broad spectrum of knowledge and have previous experience in heavy equipment repair across construction equipment, weight-handling equipment, materials-handling equipment, mineral products equipment, plant facilities equipment, and weight-and-materials-handling equipment.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable of all safety, environmental, and energy requirements
  • Must speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma  
  • Must pass a company (Leo Tech LLC) background and Drug test
  • Must pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check to receive a Common Access Card (CAC) to gain access and be allowed to work on the base.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required to have a minimum of four (4) years as a certified technician from a professional organization institution or seven (7) years minimum as a journeyman or accredited diesel mechanic.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A military or civilian maintenance background is highly desirable
  • ASC certification preferable
