Position Purpose:
Functions as a professional under the direct and continuous supervision of qualified professional registered nurses and in accordance with established procedures and aseptic principles functions as a first scrub/scrub assistant in selected cases to render quality service to patients of all ages and surgeons during operative procedures.
What you will do:
Assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment.
Assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment; transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients.
Reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee and contributes to the efficient and productive operations of the Operating Room.
Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
Licensure Certified CST from NBSTSA
Certification BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required. New Requirement as of 10/1/2023, uncertified Techs have 18 months to provide proof of certification. THOfNE gives 1 chance to pass licensure exam.
Experience Minimum one year of scrub experience preferred.
On-Call- Weekend and Holidays (Required)
