Under the department leadership, the Instrument Technician is responsible to provide support services in the perioperative setting, including main OR, Short Stay Unit, and the PACU and all other hospital departments. Cleans, assembles equipment, sterilizes and disinfects supplies, instruments, and equipment according to established policies and procedures. Performs material management functions in relation to par levels. Accurately documents the sterilization process.
Experience
Previous experience in sterile processing or current certification in sterile processing required.
Education
High school diploma, G.E.D. required. Completion of a sterile processing course or equivalent work experience in instrument processing required.
Licensure/Certifications
Certification from HSPA – CRCST or CBSPD – CSPDT required
