This position-scrub tech- is a medical professional that assists surgeons and other surgical staff under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse in the operating room. They may help set up the operating room, prepare patients for surgery or adjust equipment as needed.
Scrub techs have a variety of duties that they perform in the operating room:

Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging services include a 64-ring CT scanner, nuclear medicine with SPECT scanning, ultrasound, digital mammography and high field MRI. Other departments and services include a neurology laboratory, a GI laboratory and nutritional support, pain management, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy. In addition, CGH offers an ambulatory surgical center, a Digestive Disease Center, physical and occupational therapy, a diabetic education department, a wound care center, pre-hospital paramedic level EMS, and a 24-hour trauma ready emergency department.
