Job Description

We're searching for an Obstetric Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide high-quality care for adult and pediatric patients across a variety of surgical and procedural settings. You'll collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, proceduralists, and interdisciplinary care teams to assess patients, develop anesthesia plans, monitor patient responses, and support safe outcomes throughout the perioperative continuum.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administers general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) for adult and pediatric patients, including medically complex adults
  • Performs pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history and risk evaluations
  • Develops and implements individualized anesthesia care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists
  • Manages the induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of anesthesia
  • Monitors patients during procedures and responds to physiological changes
  • Provides post-anesthesia care and evaluates patient recovery
  • Adjusts anesthesia techniques based on age-specific and developmental considerations
  • Works under physician supervision or medical direction as required by Texas law and facility protocols
  • Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Adheres to state, federal, and facility regulations, including Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Medical Board standards
  • Follows all patient safety, infection control, and risk management protocols
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes
  • Maintains readiness for emergency interventions, including airway management and resuscitation
  • Promotes a culture of patient safety, transparency, and continuous improvement

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Texas Board of Nursing or through the Nurse Licensure Compact required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (APRN-CRNA) license from the Texas Board of Nursing required
